STANDARD DESIGN OR CUSTOM MADE? Standard Design - Throughout the web site you will find furniture pieces that reflect the Shaker and Mission styles that we specialize in. Each piece is shown in our standard production style and size as a guideline for the look and price along with choices in wood and finish. These represent our "standard design" for each piece. Ths should not be confused with mass produced. Our standard design furniture pieces are hand crafted one at a time for you when you place your order. Each piece is made just for you. Want to build it yourself? We will provide shop drawings a cut sheet for the wood for any of our standard design furniture pieces. Click on the tab to the left "STANDARD DESIGN SHOP DRAWINGS" for details. Variations on a Design - We hope you will find a piece of furniture in our "standard design" that is just right for you. However, if you like a piece but it's not quite the right size, we will be happy to make it to your size specifications. Custom Made - Are you looking for a truly custom made, one-of-a-kind piece of furniture in the shaker or mission style that is hand crafted just for you? We will be happy to work with you to design and build it. If you have a design in mind for a piece of furniture, or a picture, call or e-mail us and let us know what you have in mind. We will work out the details with you and send you design drawings and a cost estimate for your approval. There is a modest design charge of $150.00 which will be credited toward your purchase price. If you already have designs done, send them to us and we will send you a cost proposal and work with you to build it to your specifications Custom made furniture at a very reasonable price. SOLID WOOD CONSTRUCTION As you would expect from high quality custom made furniture, your piece will be hand crafted using only solid hardwoods in the casement, horizontal divides, backs and drawers. We don't use particle board, MDF or veneers anywhere in our construction. Between vertical drawers we provide full dust pannels constructed in the frame and panel method. The frame is made of the same wood as the case; the panel is made of 1/4 inch birch plywood. This provides additional strength and rigidity to the case, prevents items from falling between the drawers, and provides a solid smooth surface for the drawers to slide on. Horizontal drawer faces are made from the same piece of lumber for uniform grain across the front of the piece. Thank you for thinking of us for your custom made furniture.
